How the Inflexion Team Gave Back This Year

At Inflexion, we believe in giving back. Charity isn’t something we just talk about doing. It’s something we take pride in. We are active in the community, working with causes we believe it help make the world a better place. And sometimes, we get to come together as team and donate our time together—which is great!

Here’s a quick look back at who the Inflexion team supported this year:

Elizabeth Barry, Account Executive
Inflexion Team 2014EB created a virtual ebook for the Women in Business Council for the Hoboken Chamber of Commerce. The book, Wisdom of the years, was created with influential women in business based upon letters they wrote to their younger selves providing advice and wisdom to their older selves—and readers.

Elizabeth also created an online presence for the Women’s group to showcase the members and their talents, and hosted several community events bringing together entrepreneurial women.

Most recently, she saved two adorable kittens from the ASPCA.

Kevin Cale, Executive Creative Director
Kevin took part in the 2014 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, which raised $1.5 million to fund prostate cancer research.

Scott Delea, Managing Partner
Scott launched a new Party with Purpose charity chapter in Jersey City, NJ, which held its first 5k race this year. Scott’s initial Party with Purpose chapter celebrated their 10th annual Party with Purpose 5k, which alone has raised more than $350,000 for children’s charities. Scott also, along with most of the Inflexion team, served Thanksgiving dinner and Holiday party for 100+ kids at the Hoboken Boys and Girls Club.

David DiGiovanni, Web Developer
David serves on the Board of Directors and is the Marketing Committee Chair, for Crescendo Academy of Music, a local non-profit in Kalamazoo, MI. Crescendo provides individualized music lessons to all persons regardless of age, ability or income.

Samantha Lillo, Digital Project Coordinator
Sam has donated eight bags of clothes and shoes to Catholic relief agencies.  She also volunteered to co-organize a lacrosse tournament, with more than 250 participants to raise money for the Stockport Lacrosse Club in Manchester, England.

Jennifer Minchin, Copywriter
Jennifer has donated just about $500 this year to support causes like Yoga Foster, Sevenly.org, the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride (to support Executive Creative Director Kevin Cale), and a charity set up to help a woman who lost her apartment due to medical bills caused by a brain tumor.

She worked on the American Brain Tumor Association committee to help fundraise and organize a charity race in Manhattan. She’s also donated about 5 bags of clothes to those in need.

Joe Mindak, Vice President
Joe is working hard to give back to the community he lives in. He’s working on rebuilding the American Legion through Rotary club in Hoboken. Joe is also active with the Residents for Redwings, a group of parents committed to Hoboken. Their mission is to help Hoboken High School, the PTO and Board of Education in any way they can to enhance the school.

Clarye Sessoms, Copywriter
Clarye raised money to help create a safer, more inclusive environment for marginalized youth in public schools.

Adam Smith, Project Manager
Adam donates his time and money as part of the Covenant House Young Professionals Board. This year was Adam’s second year in a row doing the “Covenant House Sleep Out” in which participants sleep on the streets of New York City for a night in March to raise money and awareness in support of homeless youth. Adam raised just about $2,000 and plans on attending the third annual Sleep Out on March 20, 2015.

Adam also took the Polar Plunge in February for the 3rd year in a row, raising a total of about $1,000 for the Special Olympics. Every February thousands of people jump into the ocean as a way to raise money but also gain awareness of what Special Olympics is all about.

He also donates to the Wounded Warrior Project on a monthly basis, and has attended two auctions and social events for Tuesday Children, which supports those children who lost a family member in 9/11.

Noelle also donated to the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, which helps fight against childhood cancer by assisting families directly affected by cancer and towards future cancer research.

She also donated five bags of clothing, shoes and purses to an area woman who brings the supplies to her community and gives them to low income families
