Why We Love Geico Ads

This morning we were discussing great advertising campaigns—we do that a lot. Without hesitation, when Kevin asked, “What’s the best ad that’s running right now?” Brittney jumped in with, “Geico’s horror movie spoof!” The ad is out just in time for Halloween and it’s pretty funny.

With all the noise in the marketplace it’s hard to make your ads stand out, but Geico has been able to do this on an ongoing basis. We think the reason is pretty simple: people like to laugh and Geico’s ads are funny.

In addition to humor, despite the disparate ads Geico has put out over the years, they’ve nailed repetition of their tagline, so you remember that 15 minutes can save you 15%. So not only do their ads make you laugh, you remember WHO made you laugh, which is something that not all brands accomplish. And that is GREAT marketing.
